Scott "T-Bone" Jones: Noise Cycles

The 5th edition of Born Free Vintage Chopper & Classic Motorcycle Show took place in Silverado, California late last month. Scott "T-Bone" Jones (the fellow in the ball cap and glasses) of Noise Cycles took the honors of Best in Show and the Harley Davidson 120R Power Plant awards.

The winning bike was a beefed-up pan head with some hand hammered metal body work. Built for speed, doubtlessly, with it's racer-inspired lines and tuned engine. I really dig that fairing/flyscreen with a view port!

Come Together

Up on the lift and was able to get the engine and transmission mounted before going over to see my mother off on her trip to Ontario. Next time, sorting out some wiring and cable routing and start mixing and matching  /5 and /6,controls and electrics.

Actually, I got a bit more done than pictured here, I was rushing to go see my mom, so I didn't get a chance to snap a pic at the end of the days progress.

McKee's Sky Ranch: All-Brands Motorcycle Event

For the second year, I have had the pleasure of doing t-shirts for this event, Mckee's Sky Ranch: All- Brands Motorcycle Event ( last year it was Wings & Wheels), the design was based upon a painting by John Panek. Tom and Debbie Mckee are some of the most most pleasant people with a vision of promoting vintage motorcycle racing and the appreciation on vintage motorcycles is general. I can't help but want to be a part of what they doing when I hear their enthusiasm about this event. Unfortunately, once again, I won't be able to be there in person, but if you can make that way, then by all means go!!

The event takes place over 4 days, July 25th-28th and includes riding, racing, displays and a swap meet. AHRMA sanctioned races are held on the 27th and 28th. It all takes place on McKee's Sky Ranch located in Terra Alta, WV. I really need to plan ahead so I can make it out next year, judging from these photos of last years event, it looked like a blast!

Valtoron La Bestia: 1976 Kawasaki Z900

Valtoron is a sculptors foundry located in Valdetorres del Jarama, a small village in Spain. Run by brothers, Carlos and Pablo have taken there talent and skills in metalwork and sculpting and combined these with there love and passion for motorcycles, to make some remarkably beautiful motorbikes.

Based around a Kawasaki Z900 power plant, "La Bestia" or "the Beast" received top honors at the Mulafest international bike Show in Madrid. One of the most stunning features of this machine is the single piece fairing, tank and seat. It was built from a casted mold.

BSA Lightning: LaRaíz Motorcycles

BSA motorbikes are catching my eye more and more these days and here is sharp little early '70's 650 Lightning, that has been given a new lease on life for Portugal Vigo, Spain based La Raíz Motorcycles.

Nothing really extreme here, just a bike that has had the right refinements to set it apart from the crowd. A few of those include lowered chassis, a shortened frame to accommodate the solo saddle and a custom headlight / racing plate. Lovely work.
